Location
Costa Rica has an astounding variety of landscapes, climate and wildlife, and our 3-week course gives young students the opportunity to see the very best of the country whilst they learn Spanish! Students spend one week in each location, enjoying life in the central valley (San Joaquin), the cloud forest (Monteverde) and the beach (Flamingo Beach).
Students start the course in San Joaquin, a prosperous town just outside the Costa Rica’s capital. After a week of enjoying life in the central valley of Costa Rica, students move on to spend one week in Monteverde Mountain Rain Forest – a perfect place to see Costa Rica’s varied wildlife! Students finish their Spanish course in Costa Rica with one week in Flamingo Beach, famous for its pristine white beaches and untouched reefs!
CourseOur schools in San Joaquin, Monteverde and Flamingo Beach are all exceptionally well-equipped, with Internet access. Students on our summer Spanish course in Costa Rica receive 20 Spanish lessons/week. Lessons take place in the afternoon, from 1-5pm. All of our teachers are fully-qualified and experienced native Costa Ricans. With just 5 students in each class, you’ll get plenty of individual help and attention!

Accommodation
Students are accommodated in single rooms in our carefully-selected host families. Costa Ricans are known for being friendly, helpful, well-educated and laid back – our young students soon feel at home! Full board (3 meals/day) is included in the price of our summer course. However, students spend the first night in a guest house with bed and breakfast, single room accommodation after being collected from the airport.
Level of supervisionStudents are accompanied at all times by one male and one female chaperone, fluent in both English and Spanish.

ActivitiesThe course includes activities such as hiking in Helena Cloud Forest, sky trekking, cookery classes, sugar cane processing trip and a weekend trip to Rincon de la Vieja Volcano to observe Costa Rica’s wildlife up close!
TransfersA two-way transfer on arrival and departure from/to Juan Santa Maria Airport (San José) is included in the price of your course.
SuitabilityThis total immersion Spanish summer course is suitable for students of all nationalities, aged 14-17 years.
